【Financial News, Incheon—Reporter Han Gap-su】 A fire broke out at a logistics center in Gyeongseo-dong, Seohae-gu, Incheon, prompting fire authorities to activate a Level 1 emergency response and begin firefighting operations.
According to the Incheon Fire Headquarters, a 119 emergency call was received at around 2:44 p.m. on the 18th reporting a fire at the Seityenel Incheon Logistics Center at 1083-4 Gyeongseo-dong, Seohae-gu.
The caller reportedly said that a fire had started in a box outside the logistics center. When firefighters arrived at the scene, smoke was billowing from the exterior of the building. Fire authorities are searching for people while working to extinguish the blaze.
Fire authorities activated a Level 1 emergency response at 3:21 p.m. As of 3:40 p.m., 98 firefighters and 39 pieces of equipment had been deployed to battle the fire.
The Seityenel Incheon Logistics Center, where the fire broke out, is a two-story above-ground building with a total floor area of 7,975.9 square meters.
No casualties had been reported as of the latest update. After extinguishing the fire, authorities plan to investigate its exact cause and assess the extent of the property damage.
