Take safety training and install devices... Up to 11% discount on delivery driver insurance premiums

[Financial News] Delivery workers who complete traffic safety education or install safety-related devices will be able to receive a discount of up to 11% on their insurance premiums. The discount rate for traffic safety-related services, which was previously up to 5%, will be more than doubled.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) and the Delivery Service Mutual Aid Association on the 18th, the expanded discount rate will be applied starting from the 21st when newly subscribing to or renewing the contract for the 'Monthly (30-Day) Insurance for Paid Transportation'.
The discount rate for each item, including completion of traffic safety education including driving practice, installation of a certified digital tachograph (DTG), and mounting of a front license plate on a motorcycle, will be increased to 5%. Discounts for each item may be applied concurrently, and the maximum discount limit for traffic safety-related discounts is 11%.
Existing subscribers can also receive discount benefits by signing up for the relevant special terms and conditions. Insurance enrollment is available through the Delivery Service Mutual Aid Association mobile app and website.
This measure was prepared to lower the burden of insurance premiums and encourage voluntary safe driving, following the mandatory enrollment in commercial transportation insurance for delivery workers starting June 3.
The cooperative also plans to launch a "specialized driver injury support product" within the year, which strengthens coverage for injuries sustained in delivery accidents and compensates for a portion of the resulting income loss.
Park Jae-soon, Director General of the Transport and Logistics Division at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, "We have expanded the discount range so that delivery workers' voluntary interest and efforts in safe driving can lead to the benefit of reduced insurance premiums."
