KAI, KAIST Join Forces to Train Aerospace Professionals

[Financial News] Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced on the 18th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) to foster professionals in the future aerospace sector and strengthen research and development and technological competitiveness.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will strengthen industry-academia cooperation in various areas, including the exchange of outstanding human resources, the identification and implementation of joint research projects, professional training, and the expansion of contract-based degree programs for employees. In particular, KAI will expand its existing employee degree program, which has focused mainly on master's courses, to doctoral courses as well. This will advance its professional training system by combining KAIST's outstanding educational and research capabilities with KAI's hands-on development experience, helping secure core technologies for the future aerospace sector and activate research infrastructure.
Following the MOU signing, an information session on KAI's new-hire recruitment will be held at the KAIST campus on the 21st, with KAI President Kim Jong-chul in attendance. The session will introduce KAI's six key future businesses, including next-generation midsize commercial aircraft, future aircraft, artificial intelligence (AI)-based manned and unmanned systems, sixth-generation fighter jets, next-generation high-speed medium-lift maneuver helicopters, and space-based infrastructure and services. KAI will also share its vision and mid- to long-term growth strategy while engaging directly with the talent who will lead the future aerospace industry.
All attendees will receive a small gift, and one-on-one, tailored recruitment consultations will be provided by current researchers and human resources personnel. The consultations will offer specific and in-depth information on job responsibilities, organizational culture, and the recruitment process.
KAI President Kim Jong-chul said, "Using this MOU with KAIST as an opportunity, we will actively foster and support professionals who will drive the future aerospace industry and create a virtuous cycle of industry-academia cooperation in which talented individuals can work at KAI and grow into leaders in actual research and development and technological innovation. We will continue expanding industry-academia cooperation encompassing talent development and research and development with a 'One Team' spirit so that Korea can establish itself as a global aerospace powerhouse."
