Nam Incheon Polytechnic Receives Hybrid Vehicle from Kia Incheon Service Center

[Financial News, Incheon—Reporter Han Gap-su] Korea Polytechnics' Nam Incheon Campus, hereinafter referred to as Nam Incheon Polytechnic, is working to strengthen field-oriented education using the latest automotive technologies.
Nam Incheon Polytechnic announced on the 18th that it held a ceremony with Kia Incheon Service Center at its main building to mark the donation of a training vehicle and received one hybrid vehicle for use as educational training equipment.
Nam Incheon Polytechnic plans to use the donated vehicle for automotive maintenance and practical training for students in the Department of Electric Vehicles. By allowing students to work directly with an actual vehicle and learn about hybrid systems and eco-friendly automotive technologies, the school will strengthen field-adaptive education beyond theory-centered instruction.
In particular, applying the latest automotive technologies to practical training is expected to improve students' understanding of technology and maintenance skills. It will also help enhance the practical abilities required in industrial settings by providing a variety of training environments.
Dean Kim Yeon-sik said, "This donation of a training vehicle will be a valuable opportunity for students to experience and learn about the latest automotive technologies firsthand. We will do our utmost to train skilled technical professionals by creating a practical training environment that keeps pace with changes in the industrial sector."
Sim Gwang-bo, director of academic affairs, said the donated vehicle would be actively used as a practical training resource for education on hybrid systems and eco-friendly automotive technologies. Kim Jeong-hyeon, head of the department, also explained that the vehicle would be incorporated into field-oriented courses to improve students' maintenance skills and ability to adapt to industry.
The Department of Electric Vehicles at Nam Incheon Polytechnic provides a range of technical training programs with full government funding, including automotive maintenance, inspection and tuning; electric vehicle systems; eco-friendly vehicle maintenance; automotive refinishing; and forklift operation and management. It also supports students in obtaining related certifications, such as the Automotive Maintenance Industrial Engineer and Automotive Maintenance Craftsman credentials, while improving their practical skills.
Meanwhile, Nam Incheon Polytechnic is accepting applications through the 20th for trainees in Surface Treatment Quality Management, a government-funded, tuition-free specialized program for middle-aged and older adults. It is also accepting applications through October 1 for first-round rolling admission to the Smart Surface Treatment Department, the country's only degree program specializing in surface treatment.
