"Looking for Anyone in Contact with His Family" ... 'Unanswered Questions' Searches for YG Producer Perry

[Financial News] Perry (54), a rapper and producer who led YG Entertainment's music in its early days, is once again drawing attention amid renewed interest in his whereabouts. Attention is focused on whether SBS's Unanswered Questions will uncover clues about the long-running reports that he went missing after the program began accepting tips related to him.
On the 17th, the production team of Unanswered Questions asked the public for information about Perry's current whereabouts and anyone who could contact his family. The team said, "We are seeking information from anyone who knows about the current status of Perry, a rapper and producer who was active in music in South Korea from the mid-1990s and is known to have gone missing after he was last seen in Los Angeles in 2010, or who is in contact with his family."
The reports that Perry had gone missing have also regained attention following the production team's appeal for information. Perry is known to have been a key figure at YG from its early days, contributing significantly to the company's musical direction before it grew into a major entertainment agency.
Perry became associated with YG through his participation in the production of a Jinusean album. He later worked as the company's main producer, handling music by Yang Hyun-suk, 1TYM and Lexy. In 2001, he released a solo album of his own. He also worked on music by Seven and Wheesung and is known to have participated in the production of BigBang's early music.
Perry's whereabouts reportedly became unknown around 2010. At the time, not only fellow artists but also his family members said they did not know where he was. He reportedly disappeared suddenly while he still had time remaining on his contract with YG, and no contract renewal was subsequently completed.

Meanwhile, in 2021, an online user who identified himself as Perry's nephew posted that he had filed a missing-person report with the United States Department of State (State Department) while continuing to search for Perry. The post drew attention, but Perry's whereabouts have remained unknown ever since.
