Incheon Metropolitan City Development Corporation Holds Residents' Briefing on Geomdan Najinpo Stream Ecological Restoration

[Financial News, Incheon — Reporter Han Gap-su] iH organized a meeting with nearby residents to share the direction of the project ahead of the Geomdan New Town Najinpo Stream Ecological Restoration Project.
iH said on the 18th that it held the Geomdan Najinpo Stream Development Project residents' briefing session on the 15th at the Majeon-dong Administrative Welfare Center. Residents of Dangha 2nd Pungrim i-One, Geomdan-gu city and district council members, and corporation officials attended.
The project is being carried out in connection with Incheon Metropolitan City's "Restoration of Five Rivers as Rivers of Natural Ecological Life" project. It aims to restore the ecosystem of Najinpo Stream and expand green and waterside spaces in Geomdan New Town.
iH will develop an approximately 1.68-kilometer section of Najinpo Stream into an ecological stream and install a pressurized pipeline to supply maintenance water to Najinpo Stream and Geomdan New Town. Through the project, the corporation plans to improve the stream's ecological environment and create a pleasant waterside space for residents.
At the briefing, iH explained the current status and future plans for the Najinpo Stream ecological restoration work and water quality improvement facilities. It also outlined plans to create landscaped green spaces around the apartment complex and resident amenities such as walking trails.
Residents focused their questions on measures to prevent safety accidents and address noise, vibration and odors that could arise during construction. They also offered various opinions about future changes to the residential environment, including the planting plans around the stream and how the walking trails would be built.
iH plans to reflect residents' opinions in the project and continue consultations with the relevant agencies. In October, it will hold an additional briefing chaired by Incheon City Council member Lee Sun-hak, with resident representatives and others participating, to share the project's progress and follow-up plans.
