United States Department of State (State Department) Bars Iranian Delegation to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) from Shopping at Luxury and Warehouse Club Stores

[Financial News]  The State Department plans to prohibit the Iranian delegation attending the UNGA from shopping at membership-based warehouse and luxury stores while staying in New York.
Al Jazeera reported on the 17th (local time) that State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said in a statement posted on X, "We will not allow the elites of the Iranian government to use the UNGA as an opportunity to purchase luxury goods at the expense of the suffering Iranian people."
Pigott urged New York's retail industry to pay close attention and refrain from violating the restriction.
The Donald Trump administration approved entry visas for the Iranian delegation, including President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, but imposed restrictions on their travel and purchases.
In the past, Iranian representatives were allowed to travel only between United Nations Headquarters, Iran's Mission to the United Nations, the residence of Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, and John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The UNGA high-level debate is scheduled to take place from the 22nd to the 26th and on the 28th.
