[Financial News] President Lee Jae Myung said on the 18th regarding real estate policy, "We will move as quickly as possible to increase housing supply through land development, including building permits, as well as reconstruction, redevelopment and urban improvement projects."
President Lee Jae Myung made the remarks at a press conference held that day at Cheong Wa Dae's Yeongbingwan State Guest House.
President Lee Jae Myung predicted, "We are expanding financing as much as possible in areas where housing supply can be increased. As a result, supply is expected to increase significantly." He added, "We have also devised and implemented detailed policies to address the difficulties faced by people moving into monthly rental and jeonse housing."
He also answered questions about single-stock leveraged ETFs, or exchange-traded funds.
President Lee Jae Myung said, "No one, not even a ghost, knows whether stock prices will rise or whether an investment will result in a gain or a loss," adding, "It seems there may indeed have been some shortcomings." He continued, "I wonder whether there may have been some instability in government policy."
Regarding the successor to the vacant Chief Secretary for Policy position, he said, "I am still considering it." President Lee Jae Myung explained, "There has been criticism that we should slightly shift the policy focus toward strengthening social policies, which people currently feel are considerably lacking. I am also considering that point and am looking for a suitable person."
