"With Government Support, Emart to Ease Grocery Burden"... Emart Offers Discounts on Foods for Ancestral Rites

[Financial News] Ahead of Chuseok, Emart will offer discounts on items in high demand during the holiday season, ranging from foods for ancestral rites to kitchen and household appliances.
According to industry sources on the 18th, Emart is offering discounts of up to 40% on major agricultural, livestock and seafood products used in ancestral rites through the 23rd, in cooperation with MAFRA and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF). The seafood items include octopus, yellow croaker, dried pollock fillets, frozen pollock fillets and freshwater eel. Cutlassfish and squid will be sold using government reserve stocks.
Discounts will focus on around 30 agricultural and livestock products, including apples, pears, dried persimmons, onions, potatoes and Korean beef for soup. The discounts also apply to meat products for ancestral rites, including Korean beef for soup, bulgogi, sanjeok and beef jeon.
A promotion for private-label (PB) products will also be held. Peacock is offering discounts and free gifts on holiday foods such as mung bean pancakes, assorted jeon and songpyeon, as well as meal kits, snacks, and refrigerated soups, broths and stews. Jayeonjuui is also discounting ancestral-rite products such as donggeurangttaeng, neobiani, bean sprouts and mung bean sprouts.
Household appliances needed to prepare holiday dishes, including electric griddles, as well as massage chairs intended as gifts for parents, are also included in the promotion. Some kitchen appliances are discounted when customers pay with designated promotional cards. CERAGEM, BODYFRIEND, COZYMA and BRAMS are also offering brand-specific discounts on massage chairs.
