[Financial News] TikTok is inviting Korean brands to apply for the U.S. TikTok Shop Boot Camp, which is designed to strengthen their ability to operate on TikTok Shop in the United States. The program aims to help Korean brands learn how to use the U.S. TikTok Shop firsthand and identify growth strategies suited to their individual businesses.
According to industry sources on the 18th, the program will run for four months from Oct. 1 for about 15 Korean brands seeking growth in the U.S. market through TikTok Shop. It will be held in cooperation with Outlandish Korea, a U.S. TikTok Shop partner.
The boot camp was organized to help Korean brands develop the practical capabilities needed to operate their businesses smoothly after joining the U.S. TikTok Shop. It will cover key areas step by step, from developing product strategies to collaborating with creators, producing content and using advertising.
The training will cover how to develop product and content strategies based on a basic understanding of TikTok Shop and the TikTok Shop Seller Center. It will also explain how to identify effective content types and usage methods for each brand through creator collaborations and content performance analysis. In addition, the program will introduce ways to link TikTok Shop's automated advertising solution, GMV Max, with content strategies. Participants will receive support in reviewing brand-specific results and developing concrete strategies for future TikTok Shop operations and growth.
The boot camp will also feature hands-on sessions so participants can apply what they learn to actual TikTok Shop operations. Through online training and in-person sessions, brands will review their individual implementation processes. The program will further help participants broaden their experience using TikTok Shop in the U.S. market through case sharing among participating brands and creator networking programs.
Eligible participants are Korean brands that have joined the U.S. TikTok Shop, established local logistics and sales infrastructure, and are capable of carrying out key activities such as TikTok advertising and Creator Affiliate, TikTok's creator partnership program. Companies interested in participating can apply via QR code by the 23rd.
The program is intended to help Korean brands gain hands-on experience by using TikTok Shop directly in the U.S. market and turn that experience into their own operational capabilities. It is expected to expand the foundation for Korean companies to enter overseas markets and create more opportunities for a diverse range of Korean products and brands to connect with global consumers.
Meanwhile, TikTok Shop is not currently operated in South Korea. Without a local entity in each market, TikTok provides a cross-border solution that allows Korean brands to join TikTok Shop in seven countries: the United States, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines and Malaysia.
