[Financial News] Kakao Ventures officially opened Temp Seoul, an immersive community space for founders, and successfully concluded an insight session under the theme "Uncopyable."
On the 18th, Kakao Ventures CEO Kim Ki-joon said, "Even a small group of entrepreneurs living in the AI (artificial intelligence) era now have access to an environment where they can quickly build products and validate their potential in the market," adding, "I hope Temp Seoul becomes a space where entrepreneurs who deeply immerse themselves in their respective problems can share experiences and trial and error with one another and grow more quickly."
Temp Seoul is a founder community space where entrepreneurs in the AI era gather under one roof, immerse themselves in developing their respective products, and grow by sharing experiences and trial and error at close quarters. It focuses on creating a high-density environment where entrepreneurs who rapidly formulate hypotheses and build products can inspire one another. About 40 people, including the first cohort of Temp Seoul members, prominent Korean founders, and industry figures, attended the opening ceremony.
Kakao Ventures plans to expand exchanges among founders around Temp Seoul and strengthen ties with domestic and international AI builder communities.
In particular, it plans to broaden connections with global founders and builder communities so that Temp Seoul participants can connect with diverse markets and startup ecosystems.
To that end, it recently signed a partnership with Shanghai-based hacker house Spak Lab. China's first hacker house, Spak Lab is a space that selects a small number of promising founders in consumer tech AI and AI infrastructure and supports them through an intensive six-week experience. Through this partnership, Temp Seoul plans to create opportunities for AI builders in Seoul and Shanghai to share their market and product development experiences and connect with the startup ecosystems of both countries.
A venture capital industry official said, "With the spread of generative AI, products that once required several development and planning personnel can now be built quickly by a small number of people, allowing teams to gauge market response," adding, "Competition among early-stage investment firms is shifting from simply supplying capital to how closely they can connect founders, talent, and global networks."
