[Financial News] Hana Securities is joining hands with ChildFund Korea, a child welfare organization, to promote a culture of sharing.
Hana Securities announced on the 18th that it had signed an MOU with ChildFund Korea to promote legacy giving and a culture of sharing. The agreement was pursued to create a more stable and systematic environment for donations through trusts in lieu of wills, as interest among wealthy individuals in giving back to society after their deaths has recently grown.
Hana Securities will provide practical support, including trust design and consultations with tax and legal experts, so that customers can participate in donations more securely through trusts in lieu of wills. ChildFund Korea will use donations designated through the trusts for its designated programs and manage them to ensure they are used transparently and effectively.
Customers who participate in legacy giving will be listed as members of ChildFund Korea's legacy donor group, the Green Legacy Club. Separate recognition procedures will also be carried out, including listing their names on a donor recognition wall and operating an online memorial.
Kim Hyun-yeop, head of Hana Securities' Investment Products Division, said, "Drawing on our expertise in trusts and our tax and legal advisory capabilities built up in the financial sector, we will do our utmost to ensure that donors' noble intentions are accurately conveyed to society. We will also continue our social contribution activities to actively promote a healthy and warm culture of sharing through trusts."
Jeong Su-yeong, head of ChildFund Korea's Asset Fund Division, said, "This agreement has established a foundation that will allow supporters who wish to make legacy gifts to practice giving with peace of mind, backed by financial solutions they can trust. We will work to ensure that these valuable donations are used meaningfully to create a society where children are happy."
