LG Household & Health Care Joins Water Resource Management in Yeoju, Creates a "Green Dam" 1.7 Times the Size of Yeouido

[Financial News] LG Household & Health Care is supporting water resource management in Yeoju, home to the largest domestic plant operated by its subsidiary, Coca-Cola Beverage.
According to LG Household & Health Care on the 18th, the company has been managing forests in the Yeoju area since this year in cooperation with Yeoju City, Coca-Cola Korea, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the Korea Ecological Environment Research Institute, and the Yeoju City Forestry Cooperative.
In the first half of this year, the partners carried out initial activities, including tending young trees and managing natural forests, in a 50-hectare forest in Hahori, Geumsa-myeon, Yeoju City. Including this year's work, the total area of forest managed by the partner organizations is 495 hectares, roughly 1.7 times the size of Yeouido.
The "Mul Pumeun Sup" project in Yeoju City is an environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiative that enhances forests' ability to retain and replenish water resources through grass cutting, young-tree tending and natural forest management. Launched in 2022, the project is now in its fifth year, and an event was held on the 17th to share its achievements.
An LG Household & Health Care official said, "This is an ESG initiative that gives back tangible support to nature and local communities near our facilities. We will continue our water replenishment efforts to grow together with local communities."
