More Than 1,000 Law-Distortion Cases Reported Within Six Months of Offense Taking Effect; Nearly 14,000 People Involved

[Financial News] Six months after the law-distortion offense took effect, more than 1,000 related cases had been filed with police.
According to police on the 18th, a total of 1,002 law-distortion cases had been filed as of the 12th. The number of people recorded as involved in these cases stood at 13,953.
Of the cases filed, 725 involving 11,648 people were closed, including through decisions not to refer them to prosecutors. Another 32 cases involving 68 people were transferred to other agencies. Investigations are currently ongoing in 245 cases involving 2,237 people.
The nationwide case-based disposition rate was 75.5%.
By professional status, 3,971 police officers were recorded as involved. Cases involving 3,214 of them had been closed. The police figure includes maritime police officers.
A total of 961 prosecutors were recorded, with cases involving 679 of them closed. Among the 734 judges recorded, cases involving 507 had been closed. The prosecutor figure includes prosecutors from the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) and Special Prosecutors.
Of the 158 Special Judicial Police Officers recorded, cases involving 155 had been closed. Among the 16 Prosecutor's Office Investigators recorded, cases involving 12 had been closed.
A total of 8,113 people who did not belong to categories such as police officers, judges, or prosecutors were recorded, and cases involving 7,149 of them had been closed.
