[Financial News] Kakao Pay has expanded its personalized card comparison service from its existing application to the web. It has significantly lowered the barrier to access, allowing users to start using the service immediately without signing up.
Kakao Pay officially unveiled 'Card Research Institute' on the 18th. The service allows users to compare and explore cards optimized for their needs without logging in, while also viewing related events and financial content at a glance. Previously available only through the app, the service has now been launched on the web as well.
Users can easily search for cards based on their preferred benefit categories and annual fee ranges. They can also compare cards suited to their spending patterns and financial needs and view a list of cards they may be eligible to apply for.
The service also provides a variety of useful content for everyday life. 'Card Issuer Events for 00' presents each card issuer's recommended card promotions for the month at a glance. The 'Top 3 Popular Cards' section displays, in real time, the rankings of credit and debit cards most frequently viewed by other users on the Kakao Pay app over the past hour.
It also features 'Cards with the Best Benefits by Industry,' helping users receive greater benefits in the areas where they frequently spend. The section brings together information on specialized card benefits for major categories, including fuel, public transportation, telecommunications, streaming services, overseas payments, education and child care.
Other features include 'View Cards by Issuer,' which brings together major cards issued by each card company, and 'Smart Card Life,' content designed to improve the efficiency of everyday card use and encourage wiser spending habits.
A Kakao Pay official said, "By expanding the service to the web, we improved accessibility so users can check and share the card and event information they need without logging in," adding, "We will continue upgrading the service so users can easily and conveniently explore the financial products and benefit information they need on their own."
