[Financial News] NS Shopping is joining forces with the Korean Association of Communication Studies to co-host a college student debate competition for the next three years.
According to industry sources on the 18th, NS Shopping signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korean Association of Communication Studies at its headquarters in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, on the 17th to promote a culture of debate and academic cooperation. Under the agreement, the two sides will jointly host a college student debate competition through 2028.
The competition was established to enhance college students' critical and logical thinking, strengthen their communication skills, and promote a healthy culture of debate. The two sides will collaborate on planning and operating the competition, recruiting and promoting it to participants, conducting research and academic activities in debate and communication, and holding academic events such as seminars and forums. They will also operate an executive committee made up of working-level staff.
This year's college student debate competition is scheduled to take place at Kyung Hee University. The specific schedule and format will be finalized through consultations between the two sides.
Cho Hang-mok, CEO of NS Shopping, said, "Debate is a process of communication in which people respect different opinions and seek reasonable solutions," adding, "I hope this agreement will help college students grow into talented individuals equipped with critical thinking and communication skills."
