247 Seoul Schools to Open Parking Lots Free of Charge During Chuseok Holiday

[Financial News] The school grounds and parking lots at 247 schools across Seoul will be open to citizens free of charge during the Chuseok holiday. This is 37 more schools than during the previous Seollal holiday.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 18th that it would open parking facilities at schools across the city free of charge for four days, from September 24 to 27, to help local residents and reverse-homecoming travelers with parking during the Chuseok holiday. All 25 autonomous districts in Seoul will participate in the initiative.
Participation is particularly strong in densely populated residential areas. Seongbuk District has the most participating schools, with 30, followed by Dongjak District with 26, Gwanak District with 25, Gangbuk District with 17, and Nowon District and Dongdaemun District with 16 each.
Residents looking for parking can search for the locations of participating schools directly through smartphone navigation apps they commonly use, such as NAVER Map, Kakao Map, and TMAP, or through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Gongyu Nuri portal.
However, operating arrangements vary by school, with some opening only their parking lots and others opening the school grounds as well. Available hours also differ. Detailed opening hours and lists of participating schools can be found on the notices section of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education website. The education office also plans to strengthen patrols around schools in cooperation with local police stations during the holiday.
