【Financial News, Andong = Kim Jang-wook】Starting in 2027, Nonghyup Bank and iM Bank will manage Gyeongsangbuk-do's treasury for four years.
On the 15th, Gyeongsangbuk-do held a meeting of its Treasury Designation Deliberation Committee and selected Nonghyup Bank as the first treasury bank and iM Bank as the second treasury bank to manage provincial funds for four years starting in 2027.
According to Gyeongsangbuk-do, the committee received proposals from three financial institutions—Nonghyup Bank, iM Bank and KB Kookmin Bank—on August 12 and 13 and evaluated them across five categories and 14 detailed items.
The evaluation criteria included the financial institutions' creditworthiness and financial stability, lending and deposit interest rates, convenience for local residents, treasury management capabilities, and contributions to the local community and cooperative projects.
Nonghyup Bank ranked first with 839.6 points, followed by iM Bank with 817.8 points and KB Kookmin Bank with 814.9 points.
Jeong Gyeong-hee, an official in charge of tax administration, said, "We plan to consult with the two institutions selected as the first and second choices on interest rates and cooperative project funds and finalize the treasury contracts in October."
Meanwhile, under the Standards for Designating Local Government Treasury Banks, an administrative notice issued by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS), the interest rates and cooperative project funds will be disclosed on the provincial website and in the provincial gazette by January 30, 2027, within 30 days of the treasury agreements taking effect.
