YBM and National Institute for International Education to Offer Scholarships to Young Participants in U.S. Internship Program 'WEST (Work, English Study, Travel)'

[Financial News] Young people participating in the government's flagship overseas internship program, WEST, will receive Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) scholarships. YBM has joined forces with NIIED under the Ministry of Education to support young people's development of global competencies. YBM said on the 17th that it had decided to launch and operate the YBM-ETS WEST Global Leader TOEIC Scholarship Program with NIIED. Under the program, talented WEST participants with strong English communication skills and potential as global leaders will be selected as scholarship recipients and supported.
WEST is a government-supported overseas internship program that helps university students and young job seekers develop practical and language skills by providing linked opportunities for language study, internships and travel in the United States. Scores on TOEIC and TOEIC Speaking, both standardized English tests, are used as key evaluation indicators in the participant selection process, drawing considerable interest from young people.
To support this initiative, the two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 16th at the Global Leaders Room at NIIED in Seoul. YBM CEO Heo Moon-ho, NIIED President HAN Sang Shin and other key officials attended the signing. The two sides plan to operate the scholarship program by combining their respective expertise and infrastructure in education and assessment, while continuing to expand their cooperation in developing young talent.
Heo Moon-ho, CEO of YBM, said, "We hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity to support the growth of young talent who will showcase their abilities on the global stage." He added, "We will continue to work closely with NIIED and actively contribute to strengthening young people's global competencies and expanding opportunities for them to advance overseas."
