[Financial News] Mirae Asset Securities has halted its pursuit of the acquisition of Public.com, a U.S. retail brokerage platform. Mirae Asset Securities said in a regulatory disclosure on the 17th, regarding last month's report titled 'Mirae Asset Securities Pursues Acquisition of Public.com to Target North America,' that "although we had considered acquiring Public.com, we decided to discontinue further consideration."
Public.com is a fintech company founded in New York in 2019. Its platform allows users to trade stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), U.S. Treasuries, bonds, options and crypto assets. Leveraging social networking features and real-time fractional investing, it has secured more than 3 million members.
However, Mirae Asset Securities added, "We will continue to explore various opportunities to enter the U.S. retail market."
