[Financial News] The Korea Exchange (KRX) will host a forum to discuss the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the capital market, regulatory approaches, and ways to improve the market warning system.
According to KRX on the 17th, it will hold the '2026 Sound Stock Market Forum' at 3 p.m. on the first of next month at the KRX Public Relations Center in Yeouido, Seoul.
The Sound Stock Market Forum has been held annually since 2005 to identify capital market policy issues, including responses to unfair trading and investor protection, and discuss ways to improve them. This year's event will take place during 'Korea Premium Weeks 2026.'
This year's theme is 'Rational Market Management and Investor Protection in a Changing Stock Market Environment.' Experts will give presentations and take part in discussions on how AI technology should be used and regulated in the capital market, as well as the direction for developing the market warning system.
In the thematic presentations, Hwang Geun-ho, a professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), will discuss 'The Use and Regulation of AI Technology to Improve Capital Market Efficiency and Protect Investors.' Nam Gil-nam, a senior research fellow at the Korea Capital Market Institute, will present on 'The Current Status of the Market Warning System and Ways to Develop It.'
A panel discussion and question-and-answer session will follow, with Ryu Hyuk-seon, a KAIST professor, serving as moderator and experts from academia, the securities industry, and the legal sector taking part. Representatives from capital market-related institutions, the industry, academia, and the legal sector are expected to attend the forum.
