KB Kookmin Bank Launches Generative AI-Based 'KB AI'

[Financial News] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 17th that it had launched 'KB AI,' a generative artificial intelligence (AI)-powered service on KB Star Banking.
'KB AI' is a conversational financial service that interprets customers' questions when they use everyday language and provides the necessary information or financial services. With natural language-based integrated search, it analyzes the meaning and context of customers' input and finds relevant information, including KB Star Banking menus, financial products and FAQs, all at once. Beyond simple information searches, customers can also conduct actual financial transactions through the conversational interface.
The service also allows customers to use functions such as search, inquiry and transfers on a single screen, without separating them into different chat windows. Customers do not need to select an AI function or move to another screen; they can simply enter what they want.
Convenience for foreign customers has also been enhanced. After using AI translation on KB Star Banking to provide the KB Kookmin Certificate issuance service in multiple languages last June, the bank has also made its KB Star Banking Membership Registration service available in customers' preferred languages. The service supports one-stop processing from opening a bank account to issuing a certificate. The number of languages supported by the multilingual menus has also increased from 11 to 16.
The bank also strengthened security so customers can use its AI services with confidence. To protect financial and personal information, the AI services operate in an internal banking environment isolated from external networks. The bank has also applied encryption throughout the entire information-transfer process and implemented the same high-level security framework used for existing financial transactions.
