Shinhan Bank Joins Kakao Consortium for 'AI for Everyone'

[Financial News] Shinhan Bank announced on the 17th that it will participate as the financial-sector partner of the Kakao consortium in the 'AI for Everyone' project led by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
'AI for Everyone' is a government initiative that connects various industries and services with AI so that everyone can experience its benefits in everyday life. The Ministry of Science and ICT selected three lead consortia to carry out the project, with Shinhan Bank responsible for identifying AI services in the financial sector within the Kakao consortium.
Shinhan Bank is exploring ways to combine KakaoTalk's broad customer touchpoints and LG Uplus' AI model, telecommunications and infrastructure capabilities with the bank's accumulated financial expertise and customer consultation experience. The aim is to help customers access financial information and services more easily and conveniently in their everyday lives.
Financial products and systems involve many specialized terms and complex structures, which can make it difficult for customers to fully understand the information they need or find products and services suited to them. Reflecting these characteristics of finance, Shinhan Bank plans to explore ways to use AI to explain financial concepts and systems in simple terms based on customers' questions and circumstances, while guiding them to the financial information and services they need.
Going forward, the bank will broadly examine ways to reduce the need for customers to search for and compare financial information themselves and help them explore the financial services they need more conveniently. It will also consider expanding the use of AI to proactively guide customers toward solutions tailored to their financial needs.
