Public Procurement Service (PPS) Inspects Support for Public Sales Channels for Innovative Companies in Busan

[Financial News] The Public Procurement Service (PPS) announced on the 17th that it visited the Innovation Procurement Group Pavilion at the 'International Environment and Energy Industry Exhibition (ENTECH 2026),' which opened at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) in Busan on the 16th, to inspect the status of support for public sales channels for regional innovative products and listen to the difficulties faced by participating companies.
ENTECH 2026, marking its 20th anniversary this year, is Korea's leading specialized exhibition in the environment and energy sectors and will run for three days until the 18th. The event featured 200 companies from seven countries participating across 450 booths, and various business programs were organized to help companies expand their domestic and international sales channels, including export consultations and public procurement consultations.
A total of 16 local innovative companies participated in the Innovation Product Group Pavilion, organized by the Busan Regional Public Procurement Service, to showcase their technological capabilities to public institution officials and visitors. In particular, the event received a great response from the field by operating not only one-on-one customized purchasing consultations between public institution purchasing managers and companies, but also the 'Public Procurement Guide' system, which lowers the barrier to entry into the procurement market.
Kang Seong-min, Deputy Administrator of the Public Procurement Service (PPS), who visited the site on this day and toured the booths, stated, "Public procurement serves as an essential catalyst for outstanding regional technologies to establish themselves in the market," adding, "We will spare no effort in providing customized support that reflects the voices of the field so that regional innovative companies can create their first markets and achieve sustainable growth."
The public procurement market is regarded as a "last resort" and a powerful springboard for innovative ventures and startups that struggle with early-stage technology validation and securing initial revenue. When the government acts as the first buyer to help build initial track records, a virtuous cycle is formed that enables expansion into not only the private market but also overseas markets.
