Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) Wins Two Government Honors in Two Days

[Financial News] Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) won two government honors in two days.
BEXCO announced on the 17th that it received the Minister's Citation from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) for contributions to the development of the exhibition industry, followed a day later by the Prime Minister's Citation from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) for contributions to the development of local public institutions. BEXCO described the awards as recognition of its outstanding public management performance. By leading regional economic revitalization, job creation, and ESG-based sustainable management, BEXCO became the only institution invested in or funded by the Busan Metropolitan City Government to receive Grade A in management evaluations for 10 consecutive years.
In particular, its regional economic production-inducement effect and employment-inducement effect reached KRW 2.581 trillion and 22,000 people, respectively. BEXCO also became the first exhibition and convention center in South Korea to record an 83.5% satisfaction rate for its sociocultural ripple effects.
BEXCO received the Minister's Citation for its achievements in attracting global exhibitions and promoting shared growth with small and medium-sized enterprises. Through domestic and overseas business programs linked to exhibitions it organized, BEXCO pursued approximately 2,100 contracts with a combined prospective value of KRW 1.4 trillion. Jun-Seung Lee, CEO of BEXCO, said, "We will accelerate the AI- and digitally driven transition to smart Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE)." He added, "We will expand our global network and take the lead in helping Busan emerge as a world-class hub city."
