[Financial News] Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) and the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation will establish a cooperation framework to share ESG audit cases and mutually support specialized audit personnel.
K-water’s Audit Office announced on the 17th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding at the headquarters of the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation in Wonju-si, Gangwon State, to strengthen audit capabilities and internal controls.
The two organizations agreed to exchange audit cases and information in the areas of environmental, social, and transparent management, and to mutually support audit personnel in specialized fields. They will also cooperate on improving internal-control and audit-related systems.
Hong Jeong-min, a standing audit committee member of K-water, said, "By bringing together the corporation’s expertise in environmental conservation and resource development with our company’s experience in responding to climate change and managing water resources, our internal audit bodies will fulfill their role in creating public institutions that the people can trust."
