[On-Site Video] Jang Dong-hyuk Calls It a "Low-Grade Comedy Confirmation Hearing"... A Cabinet Reshuffle Worse Than No Reshuffle at All

Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, strongly criticized the recently held confirmation hearings for senior government nominees, calling the reshuffle "worse than no reshuffle at all."
At a Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea on the 17th, Jang called nominee Kim Seung-won's hearing a "low-grade comedy" and claimed that Kim had failed to adequately explain allegations involving stock-price manipulation and a family cooperative.
He also raised questions about the defense minister nominee's alleged false address registration and views on national security. He further escalated his criticism of the nominees for the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), calling them "people who will do only what the president tells them to do."
Jang also cited the president's declining approval ratings and problems involving real estate, prices and national security, saying, "Public anger is on the verge of exploding." He called for the reshuffle to be withdrawn and for a sweeping overhaul of the Cabinet and the Presidential Office.
