Korea-Uzbekistan Business Association Led by Dasan DMC Expands Cooperation with Local Organizations

[Financial News] The Korea-Uzbekistan Business Association, established under the leadership of Dasan DMC, a company specializing in automotive parts, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Uzbek government and economic agencies.
According to industry sources on the 17th, the Korea-Uzbekistan Business Association signed an MOU with the Investments Promotion Agency on the 11th. Subsequently, on the 15th, it signed an agreement with the National Economic Cooperation Association of Uzbekistan.
This agreement was established on the occasion of the state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Korea and the hosting of the 1st Korea–Central Asia Summit.
Dasan DMC also attended the 'Korea-Central Asia Business Summit' held on the 16th. The event was attended by approximately 520 people, including President Lee Jae Myung, leaders of five Central Asian countries, and government and business officials, who discussed ways to expand cooperation in future industrial sectors such as supply chains, energy, key minerals, infrastructure, and artificial intelligence (AI) and digital.
Dasan DMC established a wholly owned local subsidiary, 'DMC JIZZAKH LLC,' in Jizzakh Province, Uzbekistan, in 2023. It also produces automotive parts through its local joint venture, 'ADMC DASAN.'
Kim Jang-sik, CEO of Dasan DMC, stated, "Uzbekistan is a key production base and a bridgehead for expansion into Central Asia," adding, "With the signing of this MOU with the Investments Promotion Agency and the National Economic Cooperation Association of Uzbekistan, we will ensure the stable operation of our local production subsidiary and explore practical cooperation opportunities."
Meanwhile, President Mirziyoyev's state visit to Korea is seen as an opportunity to elevate the Korea-Central Asia cooperation framework to the summit level. During the Korea-Uzbekistan summit held on the 14th, cooperation documents, including 13 agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), were signed and exchanged between the two countries. The establishment of the 'Korea Desk,' a dedicated organization for Korean companies in Uzbekistan, and the launch of the Korea-Uzbekistan Business Council also took place.
