[Financial News] Korea Airports Corporation will increase its new-hire recruitment in the second half of this year by about 91% from last year to 141 positions. The expansion is aimed at strengthening safety and security staffing, enhancing safety management capabilities at airports nationwide, and broadening separate opportunities for candidates from socially disadvantaged groups. The corporation will also introduce a new track open only to young people preparing for independent living and recipients of basic livelihood security benefits, supporting vulnerable groups in entering the public sector.
Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 17th that it will accept online applications for its open recruitment of new employees for the second half of 2026 from the 17th through the 29th. The 141 positions include 90 general positions and 51 safety positions, an increase of 67 from the 74 positions offered in the second half of last year.
General positions are available in areas including administration, information technology, facilities, and engineering. For safety positions, the corporation will recruit personnel for airport security, security-screening supervision, rescue, and firefighting duties at airports nationwide.
Of the total positions, 14 will be filled through a separate track for candidates from socially disadvantaged groups. Six persons with disabilities and six persons eligible for national merit benefits will be selected, while two positions will be filled through a newly established track open only to young people preparing for independent living, recipients of basic livelihood security benefits, members of multicultural families, and North Korean defectors.
In addition to awarding extra points, KAC plans to provide separate opportunities to compete, thereby improving the chances of employment for vulnerable groups and enhancing the effectiveness of the program.
Kim Won-jun, president of Korea Airports Corporation, said, "I hope this large-scale recruitment will give young people new opportunities to take on challenges and grow, while serving as an opportunity to enhance airport safety and future competitiveness." He added, "We will continue working to expand meaningful employment opportunities for candidates from socially disadvantaged groups, alongside fair, ability-based recruitment."
Applications can be submitted through the KAC recruitment website. Details on the number of positions by field, eligibility requirements, and the recruitment schedule are available on the corporation’s website and recruitment website.
