"AI Recommends Running Music and Provides Coaching": Melon Supports 'KAKAO FRIENDS RUN'

[Financial News] Melon, Kakao Entertainment's music platform, is offering music tailored to users' running levels along with artificial intelligence (AI) coaching. Users can choose and listen to playlists suited to their running level and receive running coaching through ChatGPT for Kakao.
Melon announced on the 17th that it will hold an event linking running-level-specific recommended playlists with AI coaching ahead of KAKAO FRIENDS RUN 2026, scheduled for October 10.
The playlists are divided into four levels: △Running Beginner △5 km △10 km △Performance Running. Each level features a Kakao Friends character—Boksimi, Apeach, Chunsik, and Ryan, respectively—and includes music with different BPMs (beats per minute) suited to the running speed and purpose of each stage. Melon reflected songs directly recommended by runners nationwide during its first event, held from the 25th of last month through the 7th of this month. It selected around 20 songs for each level from the recommended tracks to create the playlists.
Users can also receive AI running coaching by obtaining a 'KAKAO FRIENDS RUN Coaching Card' through ChatGPT for Kakao.
The event runs through the first of next month. To participate, users must select the playlist that matches their level from the four running levels, click 'Like,' listen to the music, and leave a review on Melon Magazine. Participants will also be eligible to receive prizes, including AirPods Pro 3, Oakley eyewear, an Alex Zono cap, and a Pulio massager.
A Melon representative said, "Because these playlists were completed with songs recommended directly by users, we hope this event helps you prepare to complete KAKAO FRIENDS RUN 2026 while enjoying music and coaching tailored to your own pace."
