SK Innovation Discusses Strengthening Cooperation on Investment Projects with Vietnam’s Central Policy and Strategy Commission

According to local media on the 17th, SK Innovation President Choo Hyeong-wook met with Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, vice chairman of Vietnam’s Central Policy and Strategy Commission, at the commission’s headquarters on the 16th.
Choo praised Vietnam’s policies for advancing science and technology and the energy sector, while emphasizing the commission’s role as a national strategic advisory body. He also shared an update on SK Innovation’s investment projects in Vietnam and the company’s long-term development plans, and proposed cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI). Reaffirming that Vietnam is a key partner for SK Innovation, Choo expressed the company’s commitment to long-term cooperation. He also said he hoped to see close coordination with relevant Vietnamese authorities so that the procedures for pursuing its investment projects could proceed without disruption.
Tuan praised SK Innovation’s investment activities in Vietnam and explained, "Vietnam’s Politburo has issued a resolution on breakthrough development in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, which includes plans to build digital infrastructure." He also expressed deep agreement with Choo’s view that data centers are important for building a stable economic growth model.
Tuan emphasized, "The Vietnamese government attaches great importance to the activities of foreign direct investment (FDI) companies," adding, "The Party and government will create a transparent, safe, and stable investment environment so that foreign companies, including SK Innovation, can invest and develop with confidence over the long term." He also asked SK Innovation to continue sharing information, experience, and opinions on advanced technology industries with the Central Policy and Strategy Commission.
