Yeungjin College Makes All-Out Efforts to Support International Students’ Employment and Settlement in Korea

【Financial News Daegu=Reporter Kim Jang-wook】Yeungjin College is making all-out efforts to support international students in finding jobs in Korea and settling in the local community.
To that end, Yeungjin College is drawing attention by holding a job fair to support international students’ employment in Korea and settlement in the region.
Yeungjin College will hold the “Job Fair for International Students’ Settlement in the Region” on the 17th at the International Seminar Room in the Information Center and the Meister Hall at its Bokhyeon Campus.
The event is part of the “Establishment of a One-Stop Support System Covering the Entire Student Life Cycle,” promoted by Yeungjin College’s Regional Innovation System (RIS) Anchor Project Group. About 200 international students from all departments and majors will participate.
Jeon Sang-pyo, director of the Office of International Affairs, said, "This job fair is highly meaningful because it directly connects the workforce needs of regional companies with employment opportunities for international students, while providing employment and stay-related support together." He added, "We will continue expanding cooperation with companies and providing practical support so that international students can find jobs suited to their majors and capabilities and settle stably in the local community after graduation."
The event will proceed in stages, linking international students’ preparation for employment in Korea with company recruitment.
In the morning, Baek Seok-hyeon, former head of the Changwon Immigration Office, will deliver a special lecture titled “Preparing for Employment in Korea and Visas from A to Z for International Students’ Settlement in the Region.” The lecture will provide practical information on employment procedures in Korea and changing one’s status of stay to seek employment after graduation, along with other employment- and visa-related matters.
A company recruitment briefing will then introduce the participating companies, available positions, eligibility requirements, working conditions, and hiring procedures. A question-and-answer session will also be held to address the students’ questions.
Starting at 4 p.m., on-site interviews will be held at the Meister Hall with five regional companies—TOP Engineering, Woojin Plaimm, Dongbo, Taeyoung Industry, and Samkwang—taking part. The companies will assess the students’ suitability for specific positions, provide individual employment counseling, and offer opportunities that could lead to actual hiring.
Meanwhile, through the job fair, Yeungjin College is focusing on directly connecting regional companies seeking to hire international talent with students looking for jobs, while providing employment opportunities suited to their majors and capabilities.
In particular, the college plans to link employment support with stay-related assistance so that students can settle stably in the region after graduation. It also plans to continue expanding cooperation between regional companies and the college in training and recruiting international talent.
