Chuncheon Lake Drone Light Show to Make Its Final Appearance of the Year, with 2,000 Drones Taking Flight on the 19th

【Financial News Chuncheon=Kim Ki-seop】A fleet of 2,000 drones will take part in the final flight of this year’s Chuncheon Lake Drone Light Show.
According to Chuncheon on the 18th, the final 2026 Chuncheon Lake Drone Light Show will be held from Cultural Plaza Forest to the Hwadong 2571 area at 8 p.m. on the 19th. Under the theme “An Autumn Night in Chuncheon Beneath the Starlight,” a record 2,000 drones will depict autumn and starlight in various colors and movements across the night sky.
Additional attractions will be available before and after the drone show. An outdoor pub and food trucks will operate at Hwadong 2571 from 4 p.m., followed by a live DJ performance from 6 p.m. These linked programs are designed to encourage tourists attending the drone show to stay around Uiam Lake before the performance begins.
The 2026 Seomyeon Lake Starlight Festa will also open that day around the Seomyeon Animation Museum and Chuncheon Literary Park. Running through the 20th, the event will offer wellness programs set amid the natural surroundings of Uiam Lake, including yoga, meditation, singing bowls, a water-view relaxation area, a book lounge and a lake market. On the first day, a starlight performance at 5 p.m. and a wellness film festival at 6 p.m. will lead into the drone light show at 8 p.m., allowing visitors to enjoy autumn tourism from sunset through the night.
During the same week, events including the Korea Reading Festival, the Chuncheon Puppet Festival and the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships will also take place across Chuncheon. Chuncheon plans to connect daytime and nighttime tourism offerings so visitors can enjoy festivals during the day and the drone light show at night, extending their stays in the city.
A Chuncheon city official said, “As this is the stage that will bring the year to a close, we will capture Chuncheon’s autumn and starlight in the night sky over Uiam Lake with 2,000 drones.” The official added, “We hope you will stay in Chuncheon for a day and enjoy it alongside the autumn events continuing from the daytime.”
