Yonsei University to Add College of Computing and College of Medicine, with Phased Completion by 2031

[Financial News] Yonsei University’s Sinchon Campus will add an Innovation and Growth Facility Building housing the College of Computing and specialized heart and cerebrovascular care facilities, along with a new College of Medicine building.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 17th, the 15th Urban Planning Committee meeting on the 16th approved with modifications a proposal to change the detailed development plan for Yonsei University’s school urban planning facility at 134 Sinchon-dong, Seodaemun District.
Under the decision, Yonsei University will be able to build an Innovation and Growth Facility Building on the site of its existing alumni center. The building will have a total floor area of approximately 109,000 square meters and 17 stories above ground. The College of Computing and specialized heart and cerebrovascular care facilities are among the planned occupants.
The university will also create approximately 13,000 square meters of community-contribution facilities. These will include the AI Open Campus, which will provide local young people with AI career-experience programs and entrepreneurship training, as well as open cultural classrooms for residents and shared parking.
A new College of Medicine building, with a total floor area of approximately 97,000 square meters and 11 stories above ground, will be built on the sites of the existing Allen Hall and the administrative building of the Yonsei University Health System (YUHS).
Construction of the Innovation and Growth Facility Building is scheduled to begin in March 2028, with completion targeted for August 2031. The College of Medicine is scheduled to begin construction in June 2027 and be completed in June 2030.
