[Financial News] Genesis is connecting its experience in global endurance racing with its high-performance brand marketing in Korea. It will unveil in Korea for the first time the race car that completed The 24 Hours of Le Mans and host a fan festival featuring a live broadcast of the Fuji race in Japan.
The company aims to expand customer touchpoints, from race-car exhibitions to racing experiences, and increase interest in motorsports and its high-performance business.
■ Le Mans Finisher and GT3 Concept to Debut
Genesis announced on the 17th that it will host the 'Genesis Magma Racing Live Festival' at Starfield Hanam in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, from the 24th to the 27th. The event will be held in conjunction with the 'Fuji 6 Hours race,' the sixth round of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) World Endurance Championship (WEC). This marks the first time Genesis has held a large-scale motorsports fan festival in Korea.
The centerpiece of the event is an exhibition of cars that have competed in actual races. The actual 'Genesis GMR-001 Hypercar #19,' which completed The 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, will be displayed in the South Atrium of Starfield Hanam. In its Le Mans debut, the car completed 372 laps over 24 hours, covering approximately 5,069 kilometers, and finished the race in 13th place.
Genesis Studio Hanam will present the 'Genesis Magma GT3 Concept' in Korea for the first time. The model was first unveiled at The 24 Hours of Le Mans in June and reflects Genesis' commitment to competing in GT3 endurance races in the future. GT3 is a leading class of GT racing, in which race cars based on high-performance production vehicles compete.
Displaying the two cars together is intended to show Genesis' ongoing hypercar racing activities and its plans to expand into broader areas of motorsports.
On the final day of the event, the 27th, Genesis will provide a live broadcast of the WEC Fuji 6 Hours race. Anyone can watch the race for free on large screens installed in the South Atrium and at Genesis Studio Hanam.
Megabox Hanam Starfield will operate a separate viewing program using its cinema screens and sound system. Tickets will be provided through a lottery for Genesis vehicle owners among members of the online brand-exclusive venue Genesis Boutique. General visitors can make reservations through the Megabox app and website starting on the 17th.
■ Expanding Customer Touchpoints Through Racing Experiences
In addition to the car exhibitions and race broadcasts, Genesis will offer programs that allow visitors to experience motorsports firsthand. The South Atrium will feature exhibition and video content introducing WEC, including The 24 Hours of Le Mans, the activities of Genesis Magma Racing (GMR), and messages from team members to Korean fans.
Visitors can experience driver training through racing simulators and reaction-speed games. Postcard-making and tattoo-sticker activities will also be available for families.
Racing-team and brand merchandise, including scale models of the Genesis GMR-001 Hypercar, will be sold. Visitors who complete a stamp mission at the event venue will receive an opportunity to enter a prize drawing at Genesis Studio Hanam. The 'Genesis Magma X GMR' special exhibition, which ended on August 17, will also be extended.
Lee Si-hyuk, executive vice president and head of the Genesis Business Division, said, "The Genesis Magma Racing Live Festival is an opportunity to share, at close range with Korean fans, the experience and passion Genesis has built on the global motorsports stage. We will offer a special experience that allows domestic customers who support Genesis to share the tension and emotion of the race in real time and experience the brand's vision for the future."
