[Financial News] Independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon sent Chuseok gifts and handwritten letters to People Power Party lawmakers on the 16th, ahead of the Chuseok holiday. The letters said, "I will work together with you."
Han sent Gupo Noodles, a specialty of his constituency, Buk District, Busan, to the National Assembly offices of all 109 People Power Party lawmakers, including party leader Jang Dong-hyuk and floor leader Jeong Jeom-sig. Each set consisted of white somyeon noodles and multicolored noodles dyed with ingredients such as gardenia, cactus fruit, green tea and buckwheat.
In his handwritten letter, Han wrote, "Gupo Noodles contain our modern history." He added, "They provided a hearty meal for refugees who gathered in Busan during the Korean War, and after the war ended, they spread across the country along the Gyeongbu railway line."
He continued, "It is a food that sustained people's lives during the most difficult and challenging times." He emphasized, "I will join forces with you to protect people's lives and become an even stronger source of support." He added, "I am sending this with my gratitude for Gupo's long-standing flavor. I hope you have a warm and bountiful Chuseok."
On the 17th, Han is also scheduled to deliver gift sets and handwritten letters to National Assembly Speaker Cho Jeong-sik, Deputy Speakers Nam In-soon and Park Duk-hyum, Lee Kwang-jae, chair of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts of the National Assembly, and the chairs of each standing committee.
