KREB Holds Communication Event at Kyung Hee University...Hosts Discussion

[Financial News] The Korea Real Estate Board (KREB) met with university students to share its vision for future cities, dubbed “Great Cities.”
KREB announced on the 16th that it held an event titled “KREB Connects Youth and the Future Through AI Transformation” at Kyung Hee University, jointly with the Kyung Hee University Seoul Anchor AI Education Support Center, with students in attendance.
The event featured Lee Heon-wook’s special lecture, “Real Estate for Everyone, Great Cities,” a seminar on the use of real estate data and AI transformation (AX), and a career briefing. It was organized as an opportunity to engage with the younger generation on careers, future cities, and changes in national territorial space.
During his special lecture, Lee said, "Real estate issues ultimately concern the cities and spaces where people live." He emphasized that, beyond simply increasing the quantitative supply of housing, it is important to create enough high-quality urban spaces that people can genuinely choose and remain in for a long time. He explained that a good city must support not only housing but also various functions, including jobs, transportation, education, healthcare, and culture, and that urban quality should be designed to enhance both innovation and quality of life.
Lee added that easing the Seoul metropolitan area’s concentration around a single core requires creating competitive cities outside the capital region that people and businesses can choose for themselves. To achieve this, he proposed developing hub cities based on the strengths of each region and connecting them rapidly, thereby transforming the country’s spatial structure into a polycentric, decentralized metropolitan economic region in which multiple hub cities form a single broader economic and living area.
Lee stated, "A competitive city is one where young people can find good jobs and opportunities and build stable lives." He added, "Based on the real estate data and expertise held by KREB, we will play an active role in creating innovative and livable cities."
The career briefing introduced KREB’s main functions and recruitment information. A mobile café was also set up at the venue, providing time for the organization to engage with university students.
