On the 16th, the Korea Financial Talent Development Institute announced that it launched the “2026 Hamkke Financial Talent Exploration Team” program on the 7th as part of an agreement to operate the “Hamkke Finance Academy.”
The program was designed to help young people establish sound economic principles amid rapidly changing climate conditions and the future environment. It also aims to help them grow into active economic participants capable of understanding a sustainable financial ecosystem.
The educational program will be delivered through on-site classes, with instructors from the Korea Financial Talent Development Institute, a specialized financial education organization, visiting schools in person. The program will run through November 27.
As part of the course, middle school students will take the “Global Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Leader” certification exam. The initiative is intended to help participating students grow into “future sustainability leaders” who practice ESG values at school, at home and in their communities, and share what they have learned with those around them.
The program will be held twice for a total of 646 students selected on a first-come, first-served basis: students from five elementary schools and 18 classes, as well as six middle schools and 10 classes, in Jeonju-si.
Meanwhile, the agreement pursued by the Korea Financial Talent Development Institute, Jeonju-si and the Jeonbuk Credit Guarantee Foundation was established to support Jeonbuk’s designation as the country’s third financial hub and lay the foundation for a regional financial ecosystem. The three organizations agreed to cooperate on educational planning and curriculum development, program operations, project promotion and the establishment of an inter-organizational network.
