Choi Ki-young Takes Office as Inha University’s 17th President, Vowing to Become a Leading University in Education and Research Innovation

【Financial News, Incheon Metropolitan City = Reporter Han Gap-su】 Choi Ki-young has taken office as the 17th president of Inha University.
Inha University said it held an inauguration ceremony for President Choi Ki-young at Hana Hall on the second floor of its main building on the 16th.
The ceremony began with an introduction of his major career highlights and continued with the presentation of his appointment certificate and the university flag, his inaugural address, congratulatory remarks, a bouquet presentation by representatives of the university community, a congratulatory video, a celebratory song, and the singing of the university anthem. Sung Yong-rak, chairman of the Jeongseok Inha Foundation, presented Choi with the appointment certificate and the university flag symbolizing Inha University.
Choi graduated from the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at Seoul National University, earned a master’s degree from the same university, and received a doctorate in aerospace engineering from Stanford University. Since joining Inha University as a professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering in September 2000, he has devoted himself to education and research.
Within the university, he gained experience in administration and operations by serving in key positions, including director of international affairs, head of the internationalization project team, head of the IUT project team, dean of academic affairs, vice president for academic affairs, and dean of the Graduate School of Aerospace and Defense.
Outside the university, he served as chairman of the policy committee of the Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences and as a policy development adviser to the Air Force. Since July this year, he has chaired the Aviation and Railway Accident Investigation Board.
Choi will serve as president of Inha University for a four-year term, from September 1 of this year through August 31, 2030.
In his inaugural address, President Choi Ki-young said, "Building on the strengths and traditions that Inha University has developed over many years, as well as its stability and trust, we will add flexibility and agility to become a university that leads innovation in education and research."
