[Financial News] KYE-RYONG CONSTRUCTION donated KRW 100 million to improve the housing conditions of veterans who served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
According to KYE-RYONG CONSTRUCTION on the 16th, Chairman Lee Seung-chan presented the KRW 100 million donation to Army Personnel Commander Major General Lee Woo-heon that morning at a ceremony held at Mugunghwa Hall in Gyeryongdae, Gyeryong City, South Chungcheong Province, for the Love of Country, Home of Heroes Project.
The Love of Country, Home of Heroes Project aims to improve the housing conditions of veterans of the Korean War and Vietnam War who live in inadequate homes. The project is jointly carried out by the Army, welfare organizations and private companies.
KYE-RYONG CONSTRUCTION became the first private company to participate in the project in 2011 to help improve the housing conditions and support the livelihoods of veterans who devoted themselves to serving the country. It has donated KRW 100 million every year since then, bringing its cumulative contributions to KRW 1.6 billion, including this year's donation.
This year, the company will support the construction and renovation of homes for four households of Korean veterans. Overseas, it plans to improve the housing conditions of two households of Ethiopian veterans who served in the Korean War.
In addition, it will cover the monthly rent for 114 low-income veteran households living in rental housing.
Chairman Lee said, "I am pleased that we can provide even a small measure of help to national merit recipients who devoted themselves to serving the country." He added, "I hope social interest in and support for honoring and respecting national merit recipients will continue to expand so that such recognition can spread further throughout our society."
In addition to the Love of Country, Home of Heroes Project, KYE-RYONG CONSTRUCTION continues its social contribution activities, including donations to the Hope Sharing Campaign, scholarships for local talent and disaster recovery support.
