U.S. House Tables Trump Impeachment Resolution

[Financial News] A Democratic Party member of the United States House of Representatives sought to impeach President Donald Trump, but the effort failed again as members of his own party were divided over it.
According to Axios, a U.S. political news outlet, on the 15th local time, the United States House of Representatives approved a motion to table an impeachment resolution against President Donald Trump pursued by Democratic Representative Al Green of Texas. The motion passed 232-147, while 47 members did not vote either way.
This was the third time Rep. Green's effort to impeach Donald Trump had failed to clear the House since the president returned to the White House. Green had previously argued that Trump should be impeached over responsibility for a death incident involving agents of federal immigration authorities, but he failed to win support from Democratic Party leaders.
Some Democrats criticized Green for independently submitting an impeachment resolution against Donald Trump ahead of the November midterm elections. They argued that the impeachment effort could distract from the Democratic Party's intended campaign message.
In the actual vote, some Democratic members backed the impeachment effort, while others voted in favor of the tabling motion submitted by Republican Party leaders. Green responded by calling for a public debate with fellow lawmakers who had criticized him.
