【Financial News Chuncheon=Kim Ki-seop】Gangwon State is launching a participatory campaign in which residents of the Seoul metropolitan area will capture Gangwon's attractions in videos themselves.
According to Gangwon State on the 16th, the One-Hour Cut Campaign video contest, under the theme "Within an Hour from Seoul, There Is ○○ in Gangwon," will run from that day through November 30. It is a nationwide participation campaign designed to ease the psychological distance created by the perception that "Gangwon is far away" and change it to the perception that Gangwon is close.
Participants will fill in the blank themselves and express their own vision of nearby Gangwon in short videos lasting from 30 seconds to 1 minute and 30 seconds. They may freely feature food they want to eat, trips they want to take, and people they want to meet in Gangwon, with themes such as "There is dakgalbi in Gangwon," "There is the sea in Gangwon," and "There is healing in Gangwon."
Participants must upload their videos publicly to their personal Instagram or YouTube accounts and then submit the video and the post's URL through Google Forms. Gangwon State plans to select the winners based on how effectively they express Gangwon's appeal and the message that "Gangwon is closer than you think."
The prizes include resort stay vouchers totaling 100 nights: 30 nights for one grand prize winner, 20 nights for one top excellence award winner, 10 nights each for three excellence award winners, and five nights each for four encouragement award winners. The winners will be honored at the One-Hour Cut Campaign Awards in December, and outstanding content will be used to promote nearby Gangwon in the future.
Lee Jong-gu, director of the Construction and Transportation Bureau of Gangwon State, said, "Although the transportation network has improved significantly, the perception that Gangwon is far away still remains in the Seoul metropolitan area." He added, "I hope this will give people an opportunity to see Gangwon in a new light as they fill in the blank themselves and express why Gangwon is close."
