[Financial News] The Korean National Police Agency is pursuing a plan to permanently restrict the appointment of senior officers to key positions who have received severe disciplinary sanctions for misconduct in investigative duties, acceptance of bribes or entertainment, sexual misconduct, drunk driving, or abuse of power. The restrictions apply to officers ranging from Senior Superintendent to Chief Superintendent General, and include positions requiring fairness and integrity, such as station chiefs and officials in investigation, hearing, audit, and human rights departments. The new standards will apply to cases where disciplinary sanctions are received after the implementation date.
