[Financial News] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 16th that it held the fourth “KB Kookmin Guardian Award” ceremony with the Korean National Police Agency on the 15th at its new building in Yeouido.
The “KB Kookmin Guardian Award” ceremony recognizes members of the public who have helped prevent voice phishing and apprehend perpetrators. Since signing an agreement with the Korean National Police Agency in 2022 on preventing voice-phishing losses and eradicating the crime, KB Kookmin Bank and the agency have held the ceremony annually to highlight cases of preventing financial crimes in everyday life.
Ten members of the public who contributed to preventing voice phishing and apprehending perpetrators were selected at the ceremony. The recipients carefully identified suspected voice-phishing situations at their workplaces and in their daily lives and responded quickly to prevent losses. The honored cases included people from various professions, including nurses and telecommunications store managers, who used their resourcefulness to cooperate with police investigations and help recover stolen funds.
Each recipient received a commendation from the Commissioner General of the Korean National Police Agency, along with KRW 1 million in appreciation money provided by KB Kookmin Bank.
