[Financial News] AhnLab is redesigning its products, data and overall security operations around artificial intelligence (AI), transforming itself into an AI-native security platform company. The company said it aims to build a security system in which AI analyzes and assesses threats on its own and supports the response process. It also set a target of investing KRW 100 billion in AI over the next three years, reaching KRW 1 trillion in revenue by 2035, and generating at least 30% of its revenue from global markets.■ “Changing the security operations paradigm” ... Completely redesigning products and services around AIAhnLab held a press briefing on the 16th to unveil its AI vision and announced the integrated brand AhnLab AI PLUS and its mid- to long-term growth plan.
AI-native security goes beyond simply adding AI functions to existing security products. It means designing products, data and security operations around AI from the outset. AhnLab plans to connect more than 30 security products and services with threat intelligence accumulated over more than 30 years, centered on AhnLab AI Plus.
AhnLab CEO Kang Seok-gyun said, “AI is changing the speed and scale of cybersecurity,” adding, “The speed of hackers’ attacks has increased by 65% compared with last year, while their scale has grown by as much as 89%.” He continued, “Now is the time to change the paradigm of security operations itself,” and added, “We will redesign our products, services and security operations around AI.”
The core of AI-native security is for AI to comprehensively analyze alerts generated by different security products, identify them as a single security incident, and determine which threats should be addressed first. Currently, security personnel must check the flood of alerts from each product one by one. Going forward, AI will analyze the flow of an attack and present response measures first, the company explained. AhnLab will also introduce Agentic AI, in which multiple AI systems divide roles and perform security tasks.■ KRW 100 billion investment over three years ... Targeting KRW 1 trillion in revenue by 2035AhnLab will shift its business model from one centered on product sales to one focused on software as a service and subscriptions. Under this model, users can access the security functions they need first and later add functions and expand the scope of protection as needed.
A total of KRW 100 billion will be invested over the next three years to support the AI transformation. AhnLab plans to expand infrastructure, including AI computing, data and platforms, while strengthening its AI talent pool and research and development capabilities. The company identified “AI-native, platform, SaaS and global” as its new growth pillars and set a goal of reaching KRW 1 trillion in revenue by 2035. It also plans to increase the share of revenue from global markets to at least 30%.
CEO Kang said, “We are considering ways to expand our business capabilities by investing in M&A and new businesses. Given our recent growth trend, I believe this is an achievable goal.” He added that, as AI is changing the rules of the game in cybersecurity and the competitive order of the security industry, “AhnLab AI Plus is AhnLab’s next chapter.” He emphasized, “We will grow into an AI-native security platform company that customers think of first when they face security challenges in the AI era.”
