Soop to Consolidate Headquarters and R&D Center at New Pangyo Office, Aiming to "Improve Platform Operating Capabilities"

[Financial News] Soop will consolidate its headquarters, research and development (R&D) center, and other major business hubs around its new Pangyo office, which it purchased for 131.5 billion won. The company plans to relocate its organizations in stages beginning in the fourth quarter of this year, bringing its management, technology, and business divisions, along with major affiliates, to Pangyo by the first quarter of 2028.
Soop announced on the 17th that it will use the land and buildings in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, as an integrated hub serving as both its headquarters and R&D center. On the 4th, Soop disclosed that it would purchase the property for 131.5 billion won.
Soop will strengthen collaboration among its currently dispersed management, technology, and business organizations and major affiliates. Because a live-streaming platform requires coordination among various functions, including technology development, content operations, streamer support, advertising, commerce, and global services, the company plans to reduce physical distances to accelerate decision-making and execution.
In particular, placing the headquarters and R&D center in the same location will strengthen a collaborative system spanning service planning, technology development, feedback from operations, and business implementation. Soop expects this arrangement to enable user and streamer needs to be conveyed more quickly to its technology teams and reflected in service improvements and the development of new features.
To prevent disruptions to existing service operations, Soop plans to carry out the relocation in stages beginning in the fourth quarter of this year, taking into account the nature of each function and the schedule of each organization. The company will complete the consolidation of its major business hubs by the first quarter of 2028.
Soop explained, "The establishment of the integrated Pangyo hub is an effort to connect, at a more sophisticated level, the service operations experience and organizational capabilities that Soop has accumulated to date." It added, "Centered on the integrated hub, we plan to improve the quality of collaboration among organizations and enhance our platform operating capabilities."
