[Financial News] Soop is supporting small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in expanding their online sales channels by leveraging streamers and live commerce. It will help products from manufacturers that have focused on offline sales and business-to-business (B2B) transactions enter the business-to-consumer (B2C) market by introducing them to people in their 20s and 30s, Soop’s main user base.
Soop announced on the 16th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Association to develop online sales channels and strengthen the digital commerce competitiveness of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies.
The agreement was established to support small and medium-sized manufacturers that have products and manufacturing capabilities but struggle to promote themselves to consumers and secure online distribution channels.
Soop will use its platform and content production capabilities to support the planning, production and operation of live commerce broadcasts introducing products from association members. The association will identify member companies and products suitable for live commerce and support their participation. The two sides will also cooperate in promoting support policies for small and medium-sized enterprises and identifying successful live commerce sales cases.
Products from association members will be sold through Soop’s media commerce platform, Soop Store, and live commerce broadcasts. Streamers will introduce the products directly and communicate with users in real time, explaining their features and how to use them so that watching the content can lead to actual purchases.
The two sides plan to introduce products from various fields, including food, household goods, beauty and fashion, in stages. They also intend to expand the number of participating companies and product categories.
Yoon Seok-jae, head of Soop’s Ad Commerce Business Division, said, "We will continue expanding opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises to meet consumers in new ways and strengthen their digital commerce competitiveness."
