U.S. Vice President: "Iran War Will Change Significantly in Months"

[Financial News] The United States, which has been at war with Iran for over half a year, claimed that the nature of the war will enter a "very different phase" over the next few months. However, the specific manner of this change has not been disclosed.
According to the local media outlet New York Post on the 15th (local time), U.S. Vice President JD Vance made this claim in an interview conducted the previous day. He said, "I cannot predict the future, but I think the President is correct in his assessment that the war will enter a very different phase within a few months."
Vance argued that the Iran war, which began with the U.S.-Israel attack on February 28, has a two-phase structure. He assessed that "Phase 1 is over," noting that Phase 1 involved destroying Iran's nuclear program, conventional forces, and regional power projection capabilities. Vance explained that "Phase 2 is to prevent Iran from rebuilding its military power and to maintain global stability as much as possible after the war." He did not mention specific implementation plans.
In this interview, he claimed that the United States is not currently conducting aggressive operations. The United States Central Command (CENTCOM), responsible for operations against Iran, has refrained from airstrikes on the Iranian mainland since bombing Iranian military facilities in the Strait of Hormuz area on the 1st. Instead, CENTCOM is attacking Iranian oil tankers and ships around the strait. Vance claimed that while Iran is intermittently attacking merchant vessels around the Strait of Hormuz, ship traffic in the strait has recovered to "well over 50% of normal levels."
However, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported on the 16th, citing an official, that several explosions were heard on Qeshm Island inside the Strait of Hormuz that day, adding that the cause of the explosions had not been confirmed.
Meanwhile, Vance acknowledged American dissatisfaction with the prolonged war but emphasized that the authority to decide the start and end of a war lies with the President, the Commander-in-Chief. U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized during a meeting with reporters on the 13th that the war with Iran would "end right after the November midterm elections, or perhaps before then." He said, "Iran desperately wants to negotiate. They keep calling constantly."
