'Support for Newlyweds and Families with Multiple Children to Settle'... Muan County to Subsidize Interest on Jeonse Deposit and Home-Purchase Loans

【Financial News, Muan = Hwang Tae-jong】 Muan County is providing interest support for jeonse deposit and home-purchase loans to newlywed couples and families with multiple children.
 The program is intended to reduce the burden of loan interest, help residents establish stable housing, and create a settlement environment conducive to childbirth and child-rearing.
 First, the jeonse deposit loan interest program provides support to newlywed couples and families with multiple children who have no home of their own and are registered as residents of Muan County. The subsidy covers up to 1.5% of the outstanding loan balance annually, with up to 1 million won per year for a maximum of three years. The maximum support per household is 3 million won.
 This year, the program will support approximately 50 households, with a total budget of 50 million won. Newlywed couples must have registered their marriage within seven years, while families with multiple children must have registered their marriage within 10 years and have at least two children aged 18 or younger. Neither spouse may own a home. Household income must be no more than 180% of the median income, and the eligible home must have an exclusive floor area of no more than 85 square meters. Applications will be accepted through October 23.
 The interest support program for Bogeumjari home-purchase loans is available to households without a home that purchased a home in Muan County priced at no more than 600 million won between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026, and passed the relevant loan review, including for a Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF) Bogeumjari Loan or Didimdol Loan.
 The program provides up to 250,000 won per month for a maximum of 36 months, with a maximum of 9 million won per household. This year, 50 households will be selected. Newlywed couples may apply if they registered their marriage within seven years, both spouses are 49 or younger, and their combined annual income is no more than 85 million won. Families with multiple children may apply if they have at least two minor children, at least one of whom is 12 or younger, and annual income is no more than 100 million won. Applications will be accepted through October 16.
 Kim San, Muan County Governor, said, "I hope this program will substantially ease the housing-cost burden on newlywed couples and families with multiple children and help them settle down securely." He added, "We will continue to pursue various housing-support policies to create a settlement environment favorable to childbirth and child-rearing."
 Meanwhile, Muan County plans to select recipients according to priority, taking into account income level, number of children, and length of residence, and notify applicants individually in November.
