Enjoy Pickleball at Lotte World Mall...Lotte Department Store Opens Specialty Store with Regulation-Size Court

[Financial News] Lotte Department Store is opening a pickleball specialty store equipped with a regulation-size court as it expands experiential sports content.
According to Lotte Department Store on the 16th, it will open a “pickleball specialty store” at Lotte World Mall in Songpa District, Seoul, on the 18th. The store will be the first in the retail industry to feature a regulation-size court.
Pickleball is a racket sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. It has spread rapidly, particularly in North America, because it is relatively easy to learn. In South Korea, the number of enthusiasts is also growing, especially among people in their 20s and 30s.
The store is a pickleball-focused space created through a collaboration between Lotte Department Store and Fila Korea. A regulation-size pickleball court measuring 13.4 meters by 6.1 meters has been installed in the approximately 260-square-meter store, allowing customers to purchase products and experience the sport in one location.
The store will sell about 292 products, including Fila’s professional sports line, pickleball-specific paddles and balls, equipment, as well as racket-sports apparel and footwear. Equipment from overseas pickleball brands such as JOOLA, Selkirk Sport and Prind will also be available.
The store will also offer lessons led by professional coaches who will be stationed on-site. A promotional event will be held to mark the opening.
Park Ok-woo, head of the sports division at Lotte Department Store, said, "With the opening of this pickleball specialty store, Jamsil Lotte World Mall will establish itself as South Korea’s premier destination for experiential racket sports. We also plan to continue introducing differentiated sports experiences for customers from South Korea and abroad."
